Where heritage meets innovation

Founded by conservation architects and renewable energy engineers who share a passion for protecting Britain's built legacy while securing its sustainable future.

Our beginning

The idea emerged during a restoration project in Bath in 2011. A Georgian terrace owner asked if solar panels could work with his listed building. Most installers said no. We asked why not.

That question led to years of research into heritage-compliant installation methods, planning law interpretation, and developing relationships with conservation officers across the country. What started as one challenging project became our specialty.

Today we're the only dedicated heritage solar installation firm operating nationwide, with a track record that includes manor houses, converted mills, abbey residences, and even a 14th-century fortified tower.

What guides our work

Respect for history

We treat every building as irreplaceable. Our installations never compromise structural integrity, period features, or architectural significance. If we can't do it safely and sympathetically, we won't do it at all.

Technical precision

Heritage buildings have quirks that modern construction doesn't. Timber frames from 1650 require different calculations than steel trusses from 1950. We measure twice, consult structural engineers, and leave nothing to chance.

Planning expertise

We've worked with planning departments in 47 local authorities. We know which conservation officers prioritize street-facing visibility versus overall aesthetic impact. This knowledge shapes how we present applications and which systems we recommend.

Long-term thinking

Your building has stood for centuries. Our installations are designed to last decades without requiring invasive maintenance or causing gradual damage to historic materials. We select components and fixings accordingly.

Who does the work

Every project involves both heritage specialists and solar engineers from initial survey through final commissioning. This dual expertise ensures nothing gets overlooked from either perspective.

Our team includes two conservation-accredited architects, three structural engineers with timber-frame specialization, four MCS-certified solar installers, and a planning consultant who previously worked for Historic England.

We don't outsource the complex parts. The same people who assess your building also install the system and handle ongoing support.
